Last week I did a test drive of the A3 Hybrid Sportsback. Although I hoped that they would also have used the fully digital cluster of the Audi TT 2014, so that I could take a closer look at the UI and the UX in general I still was impressed with the car. Because there is almost no difference to a standard production vehicle both in looks and driving experience. So Audi went the clever route to get their customers gradually accustomed to electrical cars.

In Germany the car only needs 4 hours for a full charge on a standard household power socket. Which also can be timed so that the car only charges when the price per kilowat is low. Although the electric motor only lasts for 50 km (31 Miles) which might still be more than enough for most people´s daily way to work, the combustion engine boosts the car´s range to 900 km (559 Miles).

Although I got to admit that I missed the gentle rumble of my 1994 V6 Audi A6, I found the e-tron to be a good start for changing to an electrical / hybrid car. But lets see how long my current car lasts …
